Microsoft Teams Notifications

DigitalCore provides a Teams app that posts reports, alerts, and decision updates to channels you pick. Install it once into your tenant, then connect channels.

Before you start

You need:

  • The ability to install third-party apps in your Microsoft Teams tenant.
  • A team and channel for reports and a channel for alerts.

Install the DigitalCore Teams app

  1. In DigitalCore, go to Configure, then Integrations, then Microsoft Teams.
  2. Click Download Teams app package. You get a .zip file.
  3. Open Microsoft Teams.
  4. Click Apps in the left rail, then Manage your apps, then Upload an app.
  5. Pick Upload a custom app and select the .zip file.
  6. The DigitalCore app is now available in your tenant.

You only do this once per tenant.

Connect to a channel

  1. In Teams, open the channel where you want notifications.
  2. @mention the DigitalCore bot, or add it from Apps in the channel.
  3. The bot posts a one-time registration code, for example DC-A3B7.
  4. Back in DigitalCore, paste the code under Configure, then Integrations, then Microsoft Teams.
  5. The channel is now connected.

Repeat for any other channels you want to use.

Pick channels for each notification type

For each type, pick a channel:

  • Reports. A leadership or ops channel.
  • Alerts. A dedicated alerts channel.
  • Decision updates. Optional.

What it looks like

  • Reports. Adaptive card with headline numbers and a link.
  • Alerts. Coloured card with the engagement, the issue, and a link.
  • Decisions. Card with title, status, and owner.

Mute or remove

  • Mute notifications in a channel using channel notification settings.
  • To stop notifications, unlink the channel under Configure, then Integrations.
  • To remove the app entirely, uninstall it from Teams the same way you installed it.
