Microsoft Teams Notifications
DigitalCore provides a Teams app that posts reports, alerts, and decision updates to channels you pick. Install it once into your tenant, then connect channels.
Before you start
You need:
- The ability to install third-party apps in your Microsoft Teams tenant.
- A team and channel for reports and a channel for alerts.
Install the DigitalCore Teams app
- In DigitalCore, go to Configure, then Integrations, then Microsoft Teams.
- Click Download Teams app package. You get a
.zipfile. - Open Microsoft Teams.
- Click Apps in the left rail, then Manage your apps, then Upload an app.
- Pick Upload a custom app and select the
.zipfile. - The DigitalCore app is now available in your tenant.
You only do this once per tenant.
Connect to a channel
- In Teams, open the channel where you want notifications.
- @mention the DigitalCore bot, or add it from Apps in the channel.
- The bot posts a one-time registration code, for example
DC-A3B7. - Back in DigitalCore, paste the code under Configure, then Integrations, then Microsoft Teams.
- The channel is now connected.
Repeat for any other channels you want to use.
Pick channels for each notification type
For each type, pick a channel:
- Reports. A leadership or ops channel.
- Alerts. A dedicated alerts channel.
- Decision updates. Optional.
What it looks like
- Reports. Adaptive card with headline numbers and a link.
- Alerts. Coloured card with the engagement, the issue, and a link.
- Decisions. Card with title, status, and owner.
Mute or remove
- Mute notifications in a channel using channel notification settings.
- To stop notifications, unlink the channel under Configure, then Integrations.
- To remove the app entirely, uninstall it from Teams the same way you installed it.
