Stakeholders
A stakeholder is a customer-side person on an engagement: sponsor, primary contact, technical lead, finance approver. Some stakeholders also get a client portal login.
Stakeholder fields
| Field | Detail |
|---|---|
| Name | Display name. |
| Optional. Required if portal access is on. | |
| Customer organisation | The company they belong to. |
| Role | Sponsor, Primary, Technical, Finance, Approver, or Other. |
| Engagements | Where they are involved. |
| Portal access | Yes or no, with portal role: Viewer or Power-user. |
| Preferences | What they receive: reports, alerts, summaries. |
Stakeholders are not users
Stakeholders are external. They do not have DigitalCore accounts. If portal access is on, they get a separate limited login that only shows what their portal exposes.
Why they matter
- Reports adjust tone based on stakeholder role.
- Notifications go to the right person: finance to finance, technical to technical.
- A change in primary contact is a signal to revisit the relationship.
- Every customer-facing communication ties back to a named stakeholder.
